BC's Sunshine Coast is a coastal Regional District of British Columbia, Canada located directly above the Greater Vancouver Regional District and also bordered on the north west by the Powell River Regional District. The main residential centres of the Sunshine Coast are Gibsons and Sechelt District Municipality. A large percentage of this region is wilderness with the main economic activity in the area being logging, pulp and paper and tourism. The waterways in and around the Sunshine Coast are the Pacific Ocean, and the Sechelt and Salmon Inlets.
